My Painting Adventure

I picked up a brush at the age of 16 as a summertime gig to pay for things, mainly my car. I worked with Reggie Toussaint and Sons painting doing mainly exterior work on residential, commercial and industrial settings. Also, by being on the seacoast of NH, I learned how to remove wallpaper. Once I hit college, I got a job at Waterville Valley ski resort in the winter teaching snowboarding and soon became a supervisor of the snowboard school. I loved the balance of having seasonal jobs and wanted to continue to live that kind of lifestyle. I painted with them till I moved to VT. This company made me who I am today as a painter and are happy to continue the tradition of professional painting. 

My wife and I moved up to Vt in 2013. While the first year I worked winters at Jay and bounced around painting in the summer, that following summer I found a company hiring. I met Paul at a Wendys and knew it was meant to be. He hired me onto his company, Lafayette Painting. This was a change, as this paint company did mainly interior. I did a little interior in NH, but not much. Over the 10 years working with them, I learned a lot on not just how to tackle a room but how to prep or replace sheetrock. Taping and mudding is a separate trade in itself.  I also learned how to paint specialty items such as cabinets, floors, glass, marble, brick fireplaces, etc.
